AC Question

Version of Android 6.1.
Whenever I try to change my PIN/Pattern/Password lockscreen mode to Swipe/none it says "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage." Please help.

Thanks for registering! These are the most common reasons for this kind of problem.

- Your phone is encrypted.

- You have used or created a 'guest' user. Go to settings - users and remove it.

- You have an app or an account that requires some special security credentials. See in your security settings what's checked as device administrators.

If it is encrypted, is there any way to decrypt it?
Sorry for the delay. There's an easy way to know if your device is encrypted or not. Go to settings - security and check the 'encryption' section. I've never decrypted a phone, but I know that this process can be tricky depending on your phone and android version. Some phones offer an easy way and others will require a full factory reset.

You can find different instructions to decrypt your phone, but I can't recommend you which one is safe and will work for you. Sorry.
