Can't reply to gmails on my phone

[Android Central Question]

I have an older Droid Razor with Gmail app installed. I cannot reply to Gmails. I can read received emails and I can create a subject, but I am unable to type in the body of the email. There is a similar issue but it is for Android's on Samsung and I do not have the same app.

Welcome to Android Central! When you tap the email body text entry area, does anything happen at all? Does the keyboard not even show up?

Is your Gmail app up to date? Have you already tried clearing the app cache/data for the Gmail app in Settings>Apps?
