Alright so I just switched over from an Iphone to a Galaxy S7 edge and I love it. However I made the mistake of making a pattern. I thought I knew what it was and apparently I can't remember or did it wrong. I'm trying to use the android device manager and it's not working. It keeps saying that my device is already locked so there's no need to reset the password. PLEASE HELP!! I really don't want to hard reset the phone...

It won't make any difference to do an external factory reset (power + volume up/down) as it will still require the unlock pattern or password when it boots up.
