can't root my evo 4g 2.3.5 / 2.18 hboot

Hello my friends...here it goes...
been trying to root my evo4g 2.3.5 / 2.18. hboot for about 2 weeks with no luck...Ive read lots of treads follow the instructions step by step...with no luck...please help.

can anyone guide me on the right direction on were I can find the files I need to root evo 4g 2.3.5 / 2.18 hboot...Ive try going thru the inks that HTCDEV has but it just takes me all over...
