Can't save attachments sent/received in AOL mail on my galaxy 7

[Android Central Question]

Hi Occasionally I send myself photos from my desk top so I can open them on my Galaxy 7 and hope to save to my gallery.
I open AOL mail on my Mac, attach the photo (have tried both sending both ways-using paper clip icon to attach and just drag/dropping into message). When I open the mail on my phone I see the photo but it won't save and doesn't appear to be an attachment, rather is in body of email. Didn't use to be this way?!?! Thanks!

Why use email to transfer the pictures when you can just connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable and directly copy the pictures?
