Can someone help me figure out what is wrong. Anytime I try to send an email from my exchange account I get an error message saying the message can't be sent. I have done several battery pulls and even a hard reset. Hubby works for same school district and his mail is set up exactly as mine is and he has no problem sending from his tb. On a lark I added his acct to my phone and I was unable to get it to send messages either from my phone. What could the problem be?

Does he have a Sense phone too? When I first set mine up, I followed the directions my school gave online, and still had to tweak it a bit to get it to work. Make sure you have all the security boxes checked, too.

Can you receive mail?

Without seeing your setup, I couldn't know for sure, but one solution could be to go into Settings>Accounts & Sync>Exchange ActiveSync>Account Settings. Try changing the setting under Message Format (middle of the screen) from HTML to Plain Text. Perhaps your server doesn't like the format the TB is using? I doubt it, but it couldn't hurt to try. I'm assuming you can receive messages?

He has a tb and his is working flawlessly. I am receiving mail and my calendar is synching just fine. I am at a loss here.

I did try to change from HTML to plain text, but plain text is already selected and additionally it is grayed out so I can't change it anyway.

I will add my acct to his phone tomorrow and see if I can send from there.

I'm not sure how your account works, so this is just a shot in the dark, but maybe there is some setting in your exchange account that's different from his?

That would seem to be the case, but I set both of ours up and I cannot think of anything i could have done differently on one from another. May be time to call Big Red on this one.

Oh right, you did say you set both of them up.

Try it again tomorrow (maybe its just freaky server issues, mine usually gives up after 11 for some reason), and if it doesn't work, the give Big Red a call. Maybe someone else has a magical solution for this.

Yeah, I'm stumped. We've tried message format, SSL checked/unchecked. Did you use the assisted or manual setup? I've always had better luck with Manual setup. Also, on one occasion, I had to put my username in the domain field. For example, instead of the domain being "yourwork.edu" I had to use "leehblanc\yourwork.edu" to get it to work.

I don't remember if you mentioned this, but have you tried deleting your account completely and setting it up from scratch manually?

Mine didn't even use the domain, it uses m.outlook.com (we have a live.edu system). That was what held me up for the first few days.

I had this same issue (received mail but couldn't send) when I first started, but that was last July, so I have no idea what I did to fix it.

I HATE when that happens. Invariably, the issue will come up again and you'll be left scratching your head (or throwing things;) )

It's even worse when it happens the next day, and you STILL can't remember.

Samsung's email is easier to set up than HTC's, so I haven't had issues with this one. One thing they got right :p

The plot thickens. I set up my email on hubby's phone and was still unable to send email and then he was unable to send after that. I dl'ed both touchdown and k-9 and can send from those programs. I am utterly stumped and plan to cal Big Red tomorrow.
