Can't send email when using home wireless connection

Hello, I recently purchased an HTC Inspire, coming from an iPhone 4, and I cannot send emails while connected to my home wireless network. I have AT&T Uverse service using their integrated cable box/modem. When I disconnect from the wireless network, I have no problems sending emails.

What are you using? Exchange, Gmail, yahoo, etc? Have you sent test emails to other accounts? If using gmail/yahoo/free web based email have you tried logging into their website and sending an email via the browser?
