Can't send or receive texts

I'm on my 2nd phone because of a hardware failure. Once the first phone stopped sending and receiving texts for 8 hours, then started again. Phone number 2 has no been like that for 16 hours and no signs of it coming back. I uninstalled one app installed recently. I hate to go to Sprint because they always blame the apps and want to do a factory reset and I'm getting tired of that.
