I'm going to aim for concision here.

Problem Statement: After successfully pairing an old LG9100 mobile phone (not running Android, Windows, or some other modern smartphone OS) with my new LG K4 (2017) running the latest updates to Android Marshmellow, I cannot successfully send either (a) multiple picture files (jpg/jpeg in 640x480 resolution) or (b) single pictures (same file format and display/image resolution).

Supporting Facts and Information:
  • I can, oddly, send *.vcf contact files to my LG K4 (2017), but not the picture files;
  • Both devices have discoverability enabled, and I have "trusted" my LG K4 2017 as a "trusted device" on my sending device (the LG9100); and,
  • I have used Bluetooth to receive picture files from another older mobile phone, yesterday in fact, that was an INQ Chat 3G.

Your assistance in resolving this problem would be appreciated, as I'd like to finally wipe the LG9100 and recycle it. :)

Cheers,
Doug

Do both phones have a Bluetooth file transfer profile that works with the other? Evidently not, and that's what you need to send pictures by Bluetooth.

Use bitpim to copy the files from the 9100 (it's been a long time, but I seem to remember that you can) to a PC, then copy them to the K4.
