Can't separate sound control between ring volume and notification volume.

Under Settings, sound, my notification and ring volumes cannot be controlled separately from each other. For instance, when I increase the ring volume, the notification sound volume automatically increases also. This began happening after my last update was installed.

Welcome to the forums!
If you press volume button you should get a pop down saying ringtone. In that pop down windows, you should have another icon in top right corner like a down arrow..
Tap that, the widow should expand further, giving you the option to adjust other volumes like media, notifications, system as well..
Not knowing what device and software you have, this could be a little different but in general, you should get the idea...

Thank you for responding. I tried the above, but was not given notifications as an option. Only ring, alarm, and media were listed. I have Android 6.0.1 version.
