AC Question

So I just purchased the LG G6. The rep in the store was supposed to transfer my contacts in my new phone. He said that he completed that (as well as my text messages) and I left the store. When I got home, I realized the the contacts didnt transfer into my Contacts folder. I AM able to find them in the general Google toolbar search area (but not in my actual contacts) I cant access my HTC One backup folder because the HTC is pretty much dead from being dunked in the river last weekend. (Apps wont work, Google play service wont work, cant download any transfer apps for a phone to phone transfer.)

So my issue is this -

1. I know my contacts are in this new phone because they show up in Google search.
2. They are not showing in my actual contacts folder.
3. All my text messages have the names and phone numbers from each person.
4. I think I can go into each text message and save each contact that way, but for for contacts that I dont have a text message in the last 60 days, then I will miss those contacts. Plus that would be so extremely time consuming.
5. Im able to get both of my phones to communicate via bluetooth, but cant figure out how to swap the contacts that way.
6. The NFC option doesnt work between these two either. They dont hold a connection together long enough for anything to happen.

Any thoughts? Yes, taking it back to the store today is pretty much my #1 option, but if there is something I can do instead of having to go sit with a store rep (who pretty much dont know what they are doing) I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean by a contacts "folder"? Contacts that are saved to the local Phone account are located in an SQLite database file in a protected system directory. Do you mean they don't show up in the Contacts app?

Do you recall if those contacts were saved to your Google account (which means they get synced automatically to your Google Contacts in the cloud -- very convenient) or to the local Phone account (which don't get synced anywhere automatically)? If you go to contacts.google.com on your desktop browser, do you see all of your contacts there?
