Just bought the new galaxy 10.1 and i cant seem to transfer files music, pics, etc If anyone can help please!

Mine connected without the USB drivers but it shows up as a digital camera in "My Computer". Oh well!

Android file transfer doesn't work. I had to download a program called file expert. Now I can FTP files wirelessly to my galaxy. Love it more since I don't have to worry about cables.

Just load the usb drivers from the samsung website and all will be fine. I had the same issue it would inly come up as a camera until I found the drivers in the samsung support page.

I can confirm on a Mac that I cannot connect the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I have the 32gb metallic. I have tried using Kies and Android File Transfer.

If this isn't fixed, I'm returning to Best Buy and swapping out for a Xoom. I absolutely need to be able to hook up to a mac. For the moment, I'm transferring using Drop Box, but there are some items (I am in the military) that I cannot trust to transfer using the cloud.

Yep, mac user here and File Transfer won't work either.

Dropbox luckily works for me, I'm going to try File Expert now.

Mac connectivity will be coming (soon, hopefully). On the 9th, Samsung had an updated Kies on their support site that was working with Macs, but for some reason it was pulled. If you absolutely can't wait for the updated Kies or AFT, then this tablet unfortunately isn't for you

Kies doesn't work, tried it. I'll wait for a bit and see what shapes up.

Operative word being PC. Kies on the mac indicates the device is not supported.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Samsung fixes this. Will leave feedback with Google on the Android Transfer utility.

Downloaded file expert and connected to my NAS wirelessly. It is an extra step but pretty fast. Also streaming music and movies using plugplayer. For videos, need to deselect plugplayer as the video rendere. I installed mobo player and the codec the software asked me to install and streamed movies throug DLNA. Sweet.

Loaded the USB drivers as described above on my Windows 7 64bit computer and connected my 10.1 32bit Tab and it recognizes it initially. After transferring files to it once the recognized device drops off the system. I have to unplug and re-connect it to get it to work again. Anyone else experience this?

have you tried doing that with movies?

I am still having issues with transferring my data. I have down loaded Kies and the Samsung USB drivers and my device still does not show up on my laptop. In Kies when I connect my GTab to my pc it say its connected to the pc and I have files loaded in Kies, but I am not able to click on the transfer files tab. I would rather not use Kies. But If I have to I will. If possible please list a step by step.

Thanks..

I would think anything that you can't trust to use with dropbox for security concerns, I would be concerned with the Mac and the tablet as well.

I hope you're not using these devices for opsec materials.

estigall when you plug in your usb do you see up at left hand corner mtp application thats when you can tranfer your files i right click on file and sent it to my tabO:-)

Not using it for OPSEC. The tab is perfect for using to review flashcards I've made for OCS.

Nothing sensitive goes to the cloud. Just study material.
