I can't turn on notifications for Hangouts. Notifications are turned on for each individual conversation but I don't receive them. Notifications worked a month or so ago.
In the general Hangouts settings, if I go to my account, then Messages (under Notifications), "Show notifications" is greyed out. The 5 sub-settings on this page are light blue which seems to indicate that they are on and can't be turned off. Clicking any of the light blue toggles does nothing. If I turn on the main "Show notifications" setting it does turn blue but if I then leave that screen and come back, it is greyed out again.
I have checked and the app is not battery restricted.
I'm running Android 9 PKQ1 on an Xiaomi Pocophone F1.
Any help would be appreciated.
