Can't uninstall Google device policy app

Hi guys,
My past employer organisation had me install the Google device policy app and now they have deactivated my account and still I have not been able to uninstall it.
I went to device administrators in and tried to uncheck the device policy but it's not letting me do that.
Any help will be appreciated.

I'm glad that they're your past employers - anyone who installs an app on your phone, and doesn't understand the app, isn't someone I'd want to keep working for.

You'll probably have to back everything up, then reflash the firmware.
