Can't uninstall Samsung Email

I use Outlook for my email, calendar and contacts with a personal Exchange account so I'm never going to use the stock email app. I am not able to uninstall it though. And if I remove permissions or remove it as an administrator app or delete my Exchange account from it, it deletes my Exchange account entirely from the phone. Is there any way to just get rid of it? I don't want it using battery and data by pulling my email if I'm never going to use it.

Correct you can't uninstall it, its a system app and hard baked into the firmware.

It wont pull any of your emails unless you configure it do so.

But you can disable it with an app like BK disabler, its $2. This can also disable all your carrier's other bloatware.

Its does use batt but a very tiny amount, even without an email account setup, if you have something like GSAM, its always listed in there, i disabled it for the same reason as i only use gmail.

One of my problems is that I do use the Samsung Calendar, but only as a full screen widget. But in order to use it I have to add my Exchange account and that triggers the Email app too. So I have set the account to only sync with the calendar and not email and that seems to work and doesn't affect Outlook.

Also, if I don't also sync the account contacts how would I then access my contacts in the Messages app for texting? So I'm syncing that too.

Thanks for the help, everyone!

You can ditch gmail, stop the Android mail service. Go into info for the app, force stop gmail. Then press DISABLE the INTERNAL gmail setvices.
Yeah I know not recommended, but I've been kicking gmail out of my life since Jelly Bean or Masrshmallow.
The push service stills works, thanks to Android >7
I'd hold off the new gmail client is going to be a great boost.

That's great n all but the OP uses outlook and an exchange a/c so using or disabling gmail is kinda irrelevant to this thread.
