Can't Update Google Play Services

On my LG G3 phone, some of my downloaded apps suddenly refuse to work. I get a message telling me that I must update Google Play Services. When attempting to update, the screen freezes. What should I do?

Does this persist after a reboot? Also see if you can update it in Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-30130
