Can't use my Google Play balance to pay for MLB At Bat season subscription?!

Anyone else run into this? It'll only let me use a credit card for the in app purchase. Google Play and Google Wallet balances aren't available as payment methods. What the hell??

I think Google Play balance is only good for purchasing apps and media directly from Google Play Store (with the exception of devices), but not within an app. See this page: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/3421682?hl=en

Getting the same thing. Really disappointed as I have more than enough Play credit to cover it.

I can use Play credit to purchase in-app items in other apps (Pinball Arcade for one). This seems like some MLB restriction.

Last year I was able to buy the whole year for 19.99 with my GP Balance, now I just did it with carrier billing blah.

Yeah, I am pretty sure in years past I used Play balance as well and I prefer it that way. I assume they want a CC so that they can charge you next year before you have a chance to cancel.

So, I won't be ordering it again this year. It is silly, but I can't stand it when they do that.
