Cant use new google hangouts

I updated the Google hangouts (previously talk) from Google play....opened it...but couldn't sign in...gives error..'couldn't sign in...cannot reach Google server'

Any idea what should I do

Same here, the app update d on my N4 and i can't log in. If i deinstall the update i can log into the old chat app like normal.

Hmm, just launched it for the first time and it signed in without a problem. Seems some people can and others can't.

He can't sign in. AT&T is currently only preventing video chat so that should not be his problem.

I am from India...I use unlocked galaxy nexus...I don't think my carrier is causing any prevents....have no idea wads the issue....works on my dad's htc here in India
