So basically out of the blue my capacitive buttons do not turn on, or function whatsoever. To go home I need to slide open the keyboard and hit the various buttons in order to replicate the action.

I already tried doing various resets, and I even downgraded back to dk28 using odin in an ill attempt to eradicate the issue.

What I want to know if there is a rom that emulates Ice cream sandwich, or at least the on screen home and back keys so I can use my phone again.

My phone is still on dk28, but I'm not rooted, and I don't know how....... If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it. ;)

*EDIT*

I reverted to EC05 and rooted with one click root I found on xda, still cant find a solution to the capacitive buttons not working...... I think it might be a hardware issue so some way to emulate the buttons a la ICS would be perfect.

had an issue about 6 months ago where my capactive buttons weren't reacting immediately, for example every time i pressed the search button, it would be delayed for a minute and longer which would make the phone unusable as the search would pop up randomly as i'm using the phone. i went to sprint and got the screen replaced and it was fine after that. insurance covered the cost of replacement. not sure if it's related to your issue but i hope it helps.

If you have swapped out ROMs/OS's then I would think your having a hardware related issue.

Normally swapping a ROM out or using Odin to flash back to stock or another version of OS (Froyo/GB) that resets and resolves 99.9% of any software related issues. This sounds hardware if its following you no matter what you try.
