capacitive buttons!!

So sometime over the night. My search button in the bottom row no longer wants to work. If I press and hold it it will do the voice search. If I just push it once though like normal it no longer brings up the normal window that in used to seeing to do a quick search. This is very crappy. Is there some setting I somehow jacked with? Any and all help is appreciated.

Power off, the turn back on. I've seen this a few times and a restart always fixes it.

just did 2 battery pulls to make certain back to back. Still only have voice search. It won't do the manual input!
