Car bluetooth adapter

Can someone let me know if I can use my car adapter? It worked well with my Instinct. As soon as I got in the car, the phone/adapter would link and when I pushed the adapter button,l the phone would ask for a comand and I coul dial a number. With the EVO, to voice dial, you have to push a button, and I have found no way to link this action to the adapter. The EVO does link to the adapter, but that's about it. Worthless, the waya it is.. Thanks

I believe this is an Android problem and has finally been fixed supposedly in Froyo.
