car bluetooth automatic connect

My phone only automatically connects to my car when I set it for both Audio and Calls.

If I set it for audio only, it won't auto connect.

I use a wireless headset for calls, therefore need the car for audio only.

Any suggestions to get it to auto connect in audio mode only.

Unfortunately most car units will initiate the pairing mode with calls included (because of the call capabilities). This cannot be changed.

However, you may be able to automate the task with either Bixby Routines or 3rd party options like Tasker.
