Car Bluetooth issue

So I have two phones that I alternate between. I have a pixel XL 2 as well as the v30. The v30 while connected to my 2017 Subaru car stereo will switch through songs just fine without music skipping or anything but the song info on the screen will never update on the car stereo until I power the screen off on the car stereo then right back on. Then it will update but will not change again until I perform the same action. The pixel performs this without issue as well as my girlfriend's LG G6. Does anyone have any advice to make this thing work the way it should? I've done a factory reset on the v30 and still have the same issue. I tried moving it to different places around the car stereo Maybe to overcome a weak Bluetooth signal. No luck. Thanks in advance.

Try toggling between sound output settings from the notification drop down

Which brings up another question. How do I remove that notification? I dislike it. Am I just clicking on that toggle to avoid having to push the power off and on on the stereo? Or is there an actual fix? Thank you for your response however.

I'm suggesting that you toggle to phone speaker and back to Bluetooth to see if it alleviates your issue. Pressing and holding on the notification should allow Android system to let you choose to block this notification. I kind of like it as it gives me a quick toggle to choose where audio goes on the fly instead of turning Bluetooth off.
