Car chargers not working

I can't seem to get my Fascinate to work with any micro usb car chargers (phone does not recognize as being plugged in). I've tried 2 different chargers in 2 different cars, so I'm pretty certain the issue is not with the charger nor the car. I'm not sure what the problem is. Does the Fascinate require some special Samsung charger (ripoff)? Does it have something to do with rooting? Or with using Titanium Backup to freeze some of the bloatware?

Anyone experience something similar or have any insight?

I bought 2 chargers online and they don't work, on my fascinate but work on my kids phones. bought 1 from Sams club it works fine. Might be the chargers

I bought a $10 charger at Wal Mart, works just fine. Where did you get the chargers you have?

Make sure you have usb debugging enabled in Settings > Applications > Development. I've noticed almost every rom/kernel combo since 2.2 needs it to be on to see a usb connection other than an ac adaptor.

I ran into this over the weekend when the battery was nearly dead. None of the two chargers that worked fine the day before would charge the phone. Wall chargers worked fine though.

Both were official Verizon chargers. One was my sister's, so not sure where she got it...but the other came straight from Verizon.

I have had the same experience. The car charger I was using was from Blackberry and seemed to be of high quality. That charger would charge other items with the same micro-USB port, but not my Fascinate. I had to go buy a (uber expensive) charger from a Verizon store to get one that works.
