Car Dock - Now phone won't ring

I'm not finding any post about this issue.

I docked my Droid X in the Verizon car dock with a charger attached. I noticed that when a call came in that the phone only vibrated. When I undocked; my phone now won't ring. I have all other sounds for txt and alarm working. I have checked settings and even changed ringtones but still the phone vibrates only. BTW, I don't have the phone set to vibrate for a call. I long pressed the off button and it shows "Silent Mode" Sound is on.

Try taking out the battery for at least 60 seconds, put it back and turn on. That may be enough of a reset to fix whatever glitch occurred with the dock. If it happens again, maybe you need a different dock or to return that one.

Pulled the battery for 2 minutes and that didn't work. Pulled the battery and removed the SD card. Put battery back without the SD card and no luck. Any other ideas on what to do? If I do a factory reset then, I assume that all applications that i downloaded will be lost . . . is that correct?

Yes. You will have to download all your apps again and customize the settings. Your problem may be related to an app you downloaded. Before you go through a Factory Reset, try removing recently installed apps. Some times weird quirks show up from app conflicts.

After a factory reset on Fro-Yo all of your apps will automatically download from the market. Any non-market apps will need to be manually loaded.

I'm sure there is a setting you hit someplace that disabled the ringer. I would call VZW support before you do the factory reset.
