Car Dock Screen, why?

Why does the My Location button take you to google maps and not google nav. Yeah you can get directions from maps but its not the same. Have to waste my custom button for NAV. Anyway to change this? I mean not having a shortcut for the NAV app on a dock for the CAR is just dumb.

I love the droid but man did they do some stupid things. Like taking away picasa access in the gallery (I know its coming back in 2.2 but why wasnt it added in the first place) then not being able to set up sms tones for specific contacts. All of this was on the droid. Why not the DX? Did people hate all this extra customization. Its like they are begging us to root and use roms.

Eh, its one extra press for navigation, so I wasn't worried about that too much. As far as assigning custom tones to contacts for notifications, that wasn't an option on the Droid. I had to use handcent to do that. Its just a slightly different UI. To each his own. I also prefer stock android, but until we can flash custom roms, I'll deal with blur

BTW, if you want picasa access now, you can download the 2.2 gallery without fully upgrading to 2.2. There's a sticky thread in the apps forum that has it

I know on maps there is a nav button but is it the same? Ii looks different to me. It sounds stupid but I think "directions" on google maps is different than google navigation. For one you cant select "north always up" on google map directions. Maybe im wrong or crazy.

Also I did assign a certain tone for my gf s text without any 3rd party app. i forget how since I havent used the phone for a little while but I did.

I got the old droid gallery for now. it will do until I upgrade to 2.2 Its not a big deal but to get rid of it was just dumb.
