Had anyone found a car dock that can hold the phone without it falling out or off? I'm on my 3rd option and still no luck.

I've had the problem of ones that fall off too. A magnetic mount sounds possible if strong enough (I drive a big rig, which is a lot rougher than a contractor van), but my main concern is one that can suction mount to a near vertical surface. Most seen designed for the top of the dash (too high for me), or very sloped windows like most cars have. Can't use a vent clip because it's too rough to keep it on the vent.

My vent clip is on a fixed vent, not the operating one...I bagged that vent in about 1 minute then attached to the fixed one and it's been perfect. They do have two metal inserts for and extra strong hook-up but I've only needed the one. BTW...I have a very thin case on mine so maybe that helps, but...it's never even moved on the mount so for me it's been a home run. Never been in a big rig but for a less than stellar 1 ton van ride it works well.

My rig only has two dash vents within reach. One is blocked by the in cab computer's mount, the other near the door (too far from the charger outlet and makes it prone to being hit when climbing in and out. Plus they are both the loose adjustable type like in cars from the 70-80's. The best cases for me have a true locking hinge for greater adjustability. The ball joint adjustments are usually too limited for a near vertical base mounting.
