Car Mode - which app is it?

Does anyone know what the app "Car Mode" is? It shows up in my running applications. I can not delete it. I can not turn it off. If I force stop it, it turns right back on.
I don't know where it came from. Don't like apps on my phone I can't control.
BTW, I'm on Verizon.

Any help/knowledge would be helpful

It's a simplified stock app. Uses voice commands and hands free for a short list of apps to make it safe to use while driving.

Actually works surprisingly well. You just have to be patient for the commands.

The issue is that the "Turn off" box is grayed out and if I force stop this app, it turns itself back on in a relatively short time.

That would mean another app is activating it to use its resources...it is probably an app you installed, as I do not show that app running at any time. Or, you have hands free mode turned on in main phone settings Settings>device>hands free mode set to off and see if it solves problem. This may affect whatever app that is using it's resources to not perform correctly. if so you will find out when you go to use that app. Or you may have had this turned on since beginning and not realized it. good luck.

I called Samsung about this and they told me to turn off car mode you have to turn off your phone, I told her that was ridiculous to have to turn off your phone just to turn off car mode. I refuse to use just on that principal.

I went through all the settings again and didn't see anything different. I didn't see anything under device for hands free option.
Great advice from Samsung, why didn't I think of that? Wow, so simple, turn my phone off and I don't have the issue. LOL

Ok I am at a loss. I have read that Led apps or apps that have access to accessibility settings may turn drive mode on. I have also seen that it may be a setting in message app that may be doing it. Maybe you can research it more and hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will come in.

It's not one of those weird settings or programs that detects the phone moving and automatically sets it to car mode so you cant text and drive? Who knows.

Went back into messaging app, I'm using the Verizon app, not Samsung. Driving mode is turned off.

I noticed car mode greyed out when I set interupptions to 'Priority'. With interupptions set to 'All' the option to chose car mode can be selected.

In between car mode and mobile data is the Interupptions icon. That is if you are running on Lollipop.
