I realize this phone is quite new but does anyone have a car mount that works with the Shift that allows you to have a charger on it at the same time and if so where did you get it or which one might it be?

Thanks

Been using a couple of these for my wife's and my Hero's. The Shift should fit perfectly in there with room for the cable to charge as well. Will be able to tell you for sure next month when we can upgrade.

Amazon.com: Arkon Universal Windshield with Dashboard and Vent Mount for Smartphones and PDAs (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories

We use the vent mounts as when we bought them last year they were not combined into a single product.

Not bad, thanks.

Nice thing is that these are cheap enough to pick up now and not feel bad if I replace it a few months down the road with something better. That is of course if there would even be a reason to upgrade at all...

great mount thanks i just ordered one.

I just received it and wanted to thank you for the suggestion. Mounted effortlessly, and takes care of one other thing that I miss from my Pre (car touchstone).

thanks im glad to know someone got it and that this is the right choice.

nice - glad that the Shift mounts in it just fine and when I pick mine up next month at least one accessory from my Hero will be able to be reused.

I as well have this mount. What was great coming from the Moment, is that the Shift fits perfectly.

I actually don't mount it on the windshield, but have it mounted in the cubby right in front of the shifter., and next to the GPS. I can access it while driving, and I don't get a lot of glare on the screen that you get mounted higher.

Just thought I would post some pictures for people to check this mount out. It seems to be very sturdy and the suction cup is plenty powerful. I also purchased one of those dash pad things to mount the GPS so it doesn't have to be stuck to my window. I did not want to use the vent clip that came with it, though you can see a couple pictures of what it looks like. Thanks for posting the original link to the product. I am very happy with it. It definitely holds the phone securely. It looks like you could mount it with a case just as easily. Also if you wanted you could move the phone to the left in the mount a little and take video of yourself driving if that's your thing or use the assembly as a pseudo tripod type device for keeping a steady camera at home if you make youtube videos or family videos/photos or whatever.

I actually ordered this (without the base) and it's still in the bag. Can you operate the volume rocker? In the last photo, looks as though "down" might be blocked.

nice

Ya mine is very similar, just without the bean bag thingy. Just don't think I could trust it. :-\

Yeah but it would be hard to do while driving. You can move the phone over to the left though and you would have full easier access to the volume down. I had the phone all the way pushed to the right against those small braces but it doesn't need to be like that.

Actually...here is a pic of what I mean....you can just remove the right side brackets since they do nothing to hold the phone while in landscape and move the phone to the left a little. The top and bottom braces hold the phone really tight. Though doing so makes it so you see the mounting bracket on the right side behind the phone as you can see in my second pic below. You can see I have it upside down in one or two of the pics. It definitely isn't going anywhere. The suction cup is stronger than the one that came with my Garmin nuvi 750(Which my wife always has when I need it. That's why I bought this for my car)
