AC Question

When I plug in my S7 to my car stereo via USB the display on my car stereo say "check device". I've tried each of the three options that come up on my phone (I don't remember the descriptions) when I plug it in via USB and nothing seems to work. Suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! Which car, and is the stereo factory-installed or aftermarket? Many (if not most) car stereos don't recognize Android devices plugged directly into the USB port--they're often geared towards iPhones or USB flash drives. Does the car stereo have Bluetooth audio streaming capability?

I am having the same issue with a 2015 Nissan Altima. My wife's S7 would plug into the USB and be recognized and everything just fine until one day the phone did a factory reset on itself out of the blue and now the car will not recognize the phone. It gives an error stating "This USB Device Format is Not Supported. Consult User Manual." But when I plug my S7 in, it recognizes it just fine. I tried the various USB output modes that you can switch between once it is plugged in but none of them worked. The error didn't pop up when I selected the MIDI output but I don't think this is the purpose of MIDI nor should I have to change it every time when it used to work. Suggestions?
