Right there above the battery directly on top of the SIM card. You don't have to remove the battery. Just slip it under that metal lip at the top of the silver metal and push until it stops.

The SD card goes on top of the SIM card. Read the label to the left of the slot.

It depends on your settings in Google Play as I recall. I actually changed mine a year or so back to not automatically download everything. They might have changed again since then so I'm not sure what the default is.
