My wife's Steel Connect adaptors shipped without the "quick release" spring bars. She installed the adaptors anyway and now we can't get them off! She even managed to crack the back of the watch trying to pry it out. The crack is very minor at this point, but I pleaded with her to put down the tools until we know more.

My question: Has anyone successfully removed these without destroying the watch back completely? Any tips?

Not that I know of. Before I received mine, I watched the video on their website that shows installation and I had read a post where someone said they had used regular spring bars instead of the "quick release" ones and warned others that he then couldn't get them off. Since the adapters are made of steel and are a precise fit, the "quick release" bars have to be used. Steel Connect probably should have included instructions or a warning in the packaging.

I did the same... I actually installed it backwards and this was in the beginning of this year.

I JUST now got them off today with a tiny screwdriver and lots of prying... but I won't lie... I damn near pried the back off the watch too in order to do it...

If you're gonna be swapping bands, it might make sense to get the proper tools.
