Carrier bloatware?

My wife wants the pixel 2 but won’t get one from the google store as there is one locally in stock. I advised her on the carrier bloatware that tends to go on the phones when buying straight from Verizon or att.

Is this still true? She’s an impatient one!

I have an unlocked version, the moment I put my Sim in it started downloaded my apps plus a couple from Verizon I've never downloaded... And my phone came unlocked... (not Verizon version)

And you can get rid of carrier bloat...

No carrier bloat until you insert their sim car, but you can completely install with Google Pixel.

I put in a cricket sim card and happely haven't found any thing with Verizon's name on it , even the phone boots with a Google logo yehhhh

There is no bloatware on the unlocked one. On the Verizon one there may be 2-3 apps but they can be fully uninstalled.

True. There are only a couple of apps and, unlike every other phone purchased in a carrier's store, they can be completely uninstalled.
