As I become familiar now with my first Android and slider form factor, I'm realizing that a proper case is a little bit more of a dilemma.

Having bought it from Sams Club, I can return the thing without penalty up to 30 days.... so I want to keep the thing pristine if I decide I can't deal with it.

So, I take my phones everywhere... even when I'm gardening, splitting wood, changing the oil, etc.

What sort of case(s) are most appropriate for this type of phone.

(I'm also realizing that the Strats relative rarity results in not-a-lot-of-custom-cases)

Thanks for any advice.

The only case I've seen really beyond the generic ones Verizon sells for it is the Seido Surface system. I'd be game for that, but I wan't a more rugged case. I'm hoping that OtterBox will develop for it.

Are those wallet type side "holsters" the usual way to go?

I'm thinking about getting some cheap rubbery type cover like this:

...and then using one of these side, clip to your belt type things when it's appropriate.

But yes, something more robust would be cool.
Hi

Here is a url for protective case/cover for Stratosphere.

Samsung Stratosphere Protector Cases, Samsung SCH-i405

Hope this helps,

Now that I'm using the extended battery, there is almost nothing that will hold the phone.

I've been reduced to using camera cases...even then, most are too small.

When working outdoors on my property, I'm needing something that will really protect it from drops and getting punched by branches or logs.

I went to Target and bought a Moda Casi generic smart phone case for about $10. It works great with or without the extended battery. It protects the phone and it has never fallen off my pants. You can access the audio jack while the phone is in the case, but not the USB port (unless you cut a hole in it).

The clip had a tendency to catch on the belt instead of sliding on so I put a piece of black cloth tape between the clip and the phone to make it easier to slide onto my belt. Now it works perfectly.
