Looking for another case. Currently using the Otterbox Commuter series. I'd like something a bit slimmer but can still protect the phone from drops. Any suggestions?

I have a Caseology in black Carbon Fiber with gold and it looks real sexy.

Oh yeh it feels great in the hand and it'll protect some minor drop.

I will recommend Diztronic unseen! I have had diztronic cases on my last few phones and they have always had great fit and finish and are very slim while still giving adequate protection.

I have had the matte black previously but I ordered the gray also to try it out. I will try to remember to give a short review when they arrive.

BTW Diztronic said on their fb page that it will fitt the leather back also.

Had the Spigen Neo Hybrid for my last phone. Now I'm rocking the Tech21 case sold at T-Mobile while I wait for my ash UAG case to be delivered.

The Diztronic: my work week case, flexible and easy on/off, does a decent job of protecting when dropped and is still slim. However, the case IS slippery, make no mistake. I was surprised when I got it and it even has a matte finish. I've actually dropped the phone twice and it was totally the case's fault...no damage though LOL so I guess it works.

Spigen Neo Hybrid: went in the garbage a few days after using it. Well made, excellent quality, good fit, looks great...too big for me. Transformed an already borderline too big phone into a hulk. Not my type of case but I can see how people like it.

Sparin: my favorite of all, very slim but mediocre in protection. Unfortunately the version I got is discontinued for some reason. Too bad, I'd have bought a few more for safe keeping.

I am using the Spigen Slim case, I like it. It adds minimal bulk, but protects from scratches, etc, and should help some with drops.

It has a matte finish and is nicely grippy. It goes in/out of pockets easily, but makes holding the phone more secure than when I tried my new leather back by itself.

It's less protection than a multi layer case, bit as you said, I didn't want to make an already-large phone even bigger.

I have an Insignia Soft Shell I picked up at BB. Ads minimal bulk, with some corner protection, as well as the bead that goes around the screen so I don't worry about setting it down screen first on a table. Really grippy without being sticky, so pulls out of my pocket easily. Best part is the grip texture around the edge, almost like knurling - feels very secure in hand.IMG_0973.jpgIMG_0972.jpg

I have an Insignia Soft Clear Shell I picked up at Best Buy, adds a bit of protection and grip also works great with the leather back.

Just got my UAG case in the mail. Def a vast improvement on the Tech21 I was rocking and would recommend it to anyone. Lightweight, not bulky, and military grade drop protection.

I've gotten this case as well, and it seems to work pretty well.

I've ordered the free leather back , battery, and battery charger from LG. For those who have leather cases, I'm curious: are you more or less likely to use an additional case to cover this?

I personally use the OtterBox Symmetry Series. I love the Case and its a little slimmer than the commuter. Protects like a champ and has a lovely selection of colors if that's your thing.

When using my leather back (briefly) so far, I left my case off. In part because I think my case would be a tight fit with leather.

I'd consider going to a bumper case for using the leather more often.
