So, I needed a case, and there was little option in the UK when I got my SGS2, around the 20th of June.

Looked around, and the only one in retail that i could look at was the Casemate Barely There.

Knowing that Casemate have a pretty good reputation, I took the plunge.

It is a lovely case, and adds little to the thickness of the phone, but still, the SGS2 without it is a million times more beautiful.

Anyway, i'm pretty much OCD when it comes to looking after my phones, and the case was pretty much a form of insurance in case anything were to happen to it. You never know.

So, even though I took A LOT of care with this case, it still broke. When I got it, I had this exact concern, as it is flexible but not enough- I have taken the phone out of it maybe twice.

here's the result:

And this from someone who treats their phone with kid gloves.

I will be getting this returned.

Awhile back I watched a review of the Casemate Tough Case for the SGS2 on YouTube, and I thought it looked pretty good. I liked the inside rubber cover with the hard shell outer cover. Maybe the Tough case is a bit more ... tough?

Here's the review I watched ... CLICK HERE!

It might be worth watching just for Sam's accent. :p

i think i'm going to wait for Otterbox to pull their finger out and bring the Commuter to the UK for the SGS2.

I guess its the luck of the draw. I have had my barely there case for over a month and have removed it and put it back on like 20 times. No cracks at all.

Take a look at this

I don;t care for any cases. The handset is thin and slips in and out of my pocket easily. I tried a silicon case for about a week and hated it. Made the phone bulky and the rubber edge around the screen made it much thicker. I don't mind a few nicks and scratches on the edges. The back cover can be replaced easily and is very hard to destroy.

I've had mine for a few weeks with no cracking, after removing and putting on several times. However, the rubberized surface is starting to peel off. No effect on protection, but aesthetically problematic.
