Cast screen lagging, sound skips

Hello, not tech savvy, hopefully someone can help. Upgraded from my 2013 Moto X. I use the cast screen feature to play music onto my Samsung smart TVs. Same internet access (UVerse). Never had an issue with screen lagging or sound skipping, even when using the 2013 Moto X for other activities while music is playing. With the new XPE it's horrible, even when it's just sitting on my desk. Is my WiFi direct not set up properly? I also feel my Google drive and Yahoo email app are incredibly slow now. I don't want to return this otherwise great phone, but it's not performing how I thought it would. Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! What's your internet download speed like while on wi-fi? Try rebooting the router by unplugging its power for 10 seconds, then plugging it back in and reconnecting to the network.

You can also use the Chromecast app to reboot the Chromecast, and also make sure that its firmware is up to date.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I'm actually not using Chromecast, but the cast screen directly to my Samsung TV. My 2013 Moto X and my Nexus 7 have no problems with lagging or sound skipping. Is there anything I can do? Has anyone tried to use cast screen to a Samsung TV, or perhaps could try it so that I could get feedback? Thank you again.

I have Chromecast and a smart Samsung TV.. Let me try and cast to it.. Any app in particular?

Haven't tried it to a Samsung TV, but I've experienced the lag on both this (my MXPE) *and* on other devices...nexus 5, nexus 7... when using the cast screen feature. It also freezes up entirely now and then, forcing me to have to disconnect and reconnect.

In other words, I don't think what you're encountering is just an issue with the new X.
