So I'm trying to do my first root using baked snack 2.1 and I've run into the first issue.

I have a Stock Epic 4g with EB13 which was installed about a month ago via OTA push.

I have to PCs that I've tried the below process with and I've had identical results. The first PC is Win7 Pro x64 and the second PC is Win7 Pro x86.

Steps taken on Win7 Pro x64 PC:
1) Installed http://firon.net/xda/usb_drivers_GalaxyS_x64.zip 64-bit drivers.
2) Plugged phone in, installed one driver fine, unplugged phone.
3) Enabled USB debugging and plugged phone in again. This is where I get the error. It just gets stuck on installing DCD Abstract Control Model (ACM). The other 3 drivers install just fine.

Steps take on Win7 Pro x86 PC:
1) Installed http://firon.net/xda/Samsung_Mobile_Driver_V1.3.800_For_SPH-d700_Epic_4G.zip 32-bit drivers.
2) Plugged phone in, installed one driver fine, unplugged phone.
3) Enabled USB debugging and plugged phone in again. This is where I get the error. It just gets stuck on installing DCD Abstract Control Model (ACM). The other 3 drivers install just fine.

Identical behavior, two different PCs. Anyone else experienced this?

Its called Windows 7.. Windows 7 just doesn't react very well with these Samsung drivers..

Try the 32 bit drivers and even another USB cable if you have one available.

The only other thing I see in your steps you maybe doing wrong is...

- Install the drivers first without your phone connected. This part of the install is usually quick

- Then after that is done, put your phone into debugging mode and plug it in. Then that should continue to install the drivers.

For some reason you were installing the driver, then plugging in your phone with no debugging, then unplugging and enabling debugging and plugging in again.

This might be moot. I've never gotten that driver to install correctly and I've successfully done everything imaginable to my phone via Windows 7 (Odin flashes, rooting, etc).

samsung s5630i cdc abstract control model acm windows xp por favor

That model number comes up as a Galaxy Y?. This is the forum for the Galaxy S - Specifically the Sprint Epic 4g (D700).

You may want to ask for the driver in your related forum, OR go to Samsung's website, where you should be able to get it for your XP computer with no problems.
