I would like to use Samsung Pay, is there a list of android phones [other than Samsung phones] that I can use SP with? or can some users post what android phones other than Samsung phones they are using with success. I am retired and 70yrs old and would like to get a cheaper phone to use My funds are limited.

Samsung Pay only works with Samsung devices, the S6 and newer. There is proprietary hardware built into the device. You could look at Android Pay, that will require NFC.

Ok thanks I was under the impression SP can work with any android phone now with android 4.4 and above with a certain amount of memory

Android Pay is most likely what you are thinking of. It's Google's payment system.

Android Pay and Apple Pay need more retailers to enable it. Android Pay tells me my Kroger supports it but they don't and I have tried multiple registers. Kroger is testing it at Frys Food in other parts of the country. Kroger used to support years ago with Google Wallet but disabled it 1 day.
