On my battery usage info there is an item Cell standby which it states is "Battery used by cell radio."
This is using 8% battery usage. What is this and why have I got it
Sorry I am using Galaxy S5 in UK on EE network.

A smartphone is at it's most basic thing still a phone. The battery stats account for everything that is draining your battery, from the Android OS to your cell radios. That is what your entry is trying to tell you. Just the device sitting idle the battery reporting is saying the cell radios have accounted for that much power.

Now, if you were to play a game for 15 or 20 minutes, those stats would probably all change.
