Back a few years ago, Cerberus tried this and we got through it, but looks like they are doing it again.

I purchased a lifetime license back in 2015, then in 2019 they sent mass notification ending the license (Google for the long story). They decided to honor after many user complaints and bad press.

Or so I thought because I just recently received similar email from Cerberus saying my account is expiring. The app is also showing license expire in 0 days.

I sent them an email for explanation (no response yet) but wanted to check if others have received and dealt with similar recently?

Is this a phone security app? Never heard of them before. I hate it when apps decide to dishonour a premium purchase and demand a subscription. CamScanner did this and Pocketcasts is doing it now as well.

Good luck with the developer and getting them to honour their word. Maybe demand your payment back from them.

Tapatalk did the same some months ago. I needed to write them some emails and messages before they agreed to honor their word.

It's a security app that I purchased back in 2015 (used the free version a year prior) before the ubiquitous Find My Phone built-in Android function. Prior to them going the subscription route. So similar to the apps you mentioned. They tried ending the lifetime in 2019 but backtracked. I don't know if they are again (haven't heard back from them).

Good point though about asking for money back if they don't continue to honor.

Yeah, they tried this in 2019 but decided to honor because so many people got upset. But that was a mass effort, so I'm wondering if they are doing it in small batches now to keep it down low.

Quite frankly it is people like us buying their apps that allowed them to continue to work on them and they should not be shafting us for our loyalty.

Dunno. But I am not paying twice and more cos a subscription is an ongoing payment commitment

I hear ya. Loyalty doesn't carry much weight with for-profit developers or otherwise nowadays.

Tapatalk is just money hungry. If something breaks they can take forever to fix.
They dont like me posting on their site , Ha Ha :D

Welp, Cerberus locked me out of my "lifetime license" account. Still no response to my email inquiries as to why.

Cerberus ghosted me after locking me out of my lifetime license account. I sent them several emails (only way to contact them that I know) asking about it, but no response.

Ugh. They have no forum or discussion board. They have no other methods of contact other than the one email address. Since they are not hosted on Google Play or Samsung Store, there's no review commenting there either.

I guess there is no loyalty to the old timers. For those using Cerberus now, be warned.

Wish there is a way to

That is a load of tosh!! Would avoid that company for sure.

Oops, didn't get a chance to finish my previous post.

Wish there was a way to get them to scrub my data from their system because after this I have zero trust in them.
