So, Other than the fact that the phone was delayed several weeks, delivery was delayed and now this???

What does it mean? If i pop my Verizon sim in, will it work?! Anyone know any more info on this?

If you have a current active SIM it "should" work with that when you put it in the phone. I believe you won't get to use Wi-Fi calling or VoLTE until Verizon certifies it though. I could be completely wrong though.

That's what I had read also.

I don't need wifi calling or volte honestly, As long as I can put a active sim and use it, that's my concern. Volte I can wait for.

hopefully it does get certified wifi calling is the one thing that caused me to not want to use my CDMA BlackBerry KEYone.

You guys Can always just use advance calling until wifi calling is available. It's the same exact thing it just uses Verizon's data instead of wifi. It's very little data it uses. I been using it for months now and haven't really noticed a difference in my data usage

I'm using a Xiaomi Mi Note 2 on verizon right now and I have VoLTE.. pretty sure Verizon never certified this phone. I do not have wi-fi calling and there is no my verizon app in the play store available for me though lol. When I used the Mi Mix on verizon I could at least download and use the app to login to my account. Also had VoLTE on the Mix, again no wi-fi calling though.

Volte is required for the video calls and using data while on a phone call as well. If that doesn't bother you it should still work as the phone has the required internals to connect.

Wi-Fi calling is meant to be used when you don't have coverage, some people need it. Advanced calling is Volte which won't work until the phone is certified. It doesn't use data, I know that for fact.

What does your account show as your phone on Verizon Wireless site?

It doesn't show a phone, it just has a generic grey outline of a phone. I most definitely have VoLTE functioning though and I'm about 99% sure Verizon never certified this device. No wifi calling though.

As I understand, VZW specific features, as mentioned by others as VOLTE and Wi-Fi calling, aren't certified (guaranteed) to work, but may. Not sure about their apps/bloatware but I don't use any of them. Not ideal, but a step in the right direction from a few years ago when it seemed the only phones that would work on their network had to be purchased from them.

You used a Mi Mix on Verizon? Were you able to do everything that Verizon phones could do? I thought that phone lacked some of the Verizon LTE bands.

I plan on moving to TMobile as soon as I get the Essential phone so it wont matter.....

If you do switch, WiFi Calling and VoLTE should work without extra effort. My KEYone worked with both on TMO right out of the box.

It only lacks one of the LTE bands. I had VoLTE and I had 3g to fall back on if I ever lost LTE. I live in SoCal and I had LTE on Verizon about 90% of the time....and sadly when I was on 3g it was often faster than others around me who were in the super congested LTE network.

Just got a Server error message while trying to make a call. Had to reboot the phone. Anyone else have that happen?

I had some sever error also early in the day. I was coming out of a Wfi connection at the time. If I get the message again I'll take a screenshot.
