Change Bixby Background - hit points?

What the.... I went to change the background color in Bixby and got this message. What is this ???

Yeah its stupid imo that you have to be forced to used Bixby to get points just to change the background. I've unlocked the 3rd one but I'm not even gonna bother trying to unlock the others

I know at least one thing I can do to thwart Bixby showing up all the time. I will remove the button area for it from my case. no button area, less likely to press. bad case anyway. supposed to be grippy but very slippery.

What's weird is that I can't customize my phone to my liking without earning points. This is Android after all.

Well, you kind of do when it constantly pops up because it thinks you're talking to it. And then you turn off Bixby voice but some complain about hitting the button on accident and it pops up. I haven't had that happen, but with a designated button Samsung is obviously pushing it hard and making it harder to avoid.

I remapped my Bixby button. now happily Bixby free on accidental button touches. yay!

You realize its the bixby background... Not the phones background. Its an app... Does Facebook let you change the background? No... So bixby has a method of changing the bixby background

I turned off voice activation.. Problem solved. I did hit the button my mistake until i realized the case i have actually has ridges on the bixby button, making it impossible to not be able to differentiate between the two

I don't like any of them, honestly. here's the app I used. simple and straightforward. I love not activating Bixby when I accidentally hit the button. all I see is a quick flash of a blank screen. it comes and goes so fast.

eta - if I could disable Bixby with a button like Google, I'd use that instead.

That's awesome that you found solutions, I'm just pointing out that Samsung is clearly pushing this thing in everyone's faces, so it's not so easy as: "just don't use it!" They have put software AND hardware into these devices to essentially make you use it, even if by accident.
