change ownership

Hi there,

I am planning to buy a Pixel from a friend. But before doing it, I was just wondering if it was possible to change the ownership of the phone.
I mean if there is anyway that I can get Google to recognize me as the owner and, therefore, get covered by the warranty.
My friend would give me everything, including the purchase receipt. Phone was bought on Amazon

Warranty officially generally only applies to the original owner. But many places will warranty the phone from one year of release regardless of whether or not you were the first one

I don't believe the warranty is transferrable, nor have I seen anything to indicate that Amazon is an official authorized reseller. In any event, the Pixel and Pixel XL phones I've noticed on Amazon have been offered by third-party sellers.
