Changing between 3g and 4g?

So i seen in another thread that the HTC T-bolt can be changed to be 3g only. I assume the inspire can also so i went into the menu and found there is a option for CDMA/GSM only (PRL) whats that and i thought CDMA and GSM could not be on the same phone...Has anyone changed theres and if so has it helped with your battery or? Did i miss something? Im confused..Thanks folks...

the inspire is not actually running on a 4G network. Instead, it is running on a "enhanced 3g network" so essentially there is nothing to toggle on and off my friend.

@mthorn79 - more like 3g man ... even after rooting and being in the middle of "4g" coverage (Boston) I get same down speed as my old iPhone 3gs (about 2500) and since hsupa is enabled, i get 1100-1300 up ... my buddy's t-mo fascinate gets 3000 down and 1500 up ... and it's the original 3g one ... but since ATT is buying t-mo, his speed will drop soon
