Changing Icons

I was browsing around on XDA Developers website and I came across icons you can.download. I have a couple questions.

Do you need to be rooted to do this?
If the icons are changed can they be changed back to stock?

Sorry for the questions. I'm still learning what I can and cannot do with my Incredible 2

You can change the app icon on the home screen by downloading an app called Desktop Visualizer.

If you no longer want the icon for the app just delete the app from the home screen and add it back as you normally would (without desktop visualizer). Apps icon can be changed throughout the phone with an edit to the .png file within the app...this requires more work with the app itself. Desktop Visualizer is the way to go.
