Changing the menu button into a recents button

Is there any way to do this, whether it be flashing mods, changing text files, etc? I really hate not having an overflow software button and I really hate having to long press the home button.

I have root. Do know what the method is? Google doesn't seem to turn up anything except a text file editing method from the Galaxy Note 2 that doesn't work on the Note 3.

Swipe Home Button will let you use a gesture (several different ones actually) to bring up your recent apps. I like it a lot.

It doesn't have a recents remapping option.

This probably won't help you much but I have viperone Rom and there's a whole button remapping section in its venom tweaks application. I am not sure how you can do it on other roms, though, rooted or not.
