Charger not working (but only for the Pixel)

Just recently the charger that came with my Pixel XL stopped charging my phone. I tried everything I could with the cord, but it just wouldn't charger. So I used the Type C to Type A cord that also came with the phone to hook up to a third party charger I had laying around, and it started charging just fine. Figuring the charger was bad, I ordered a new one, hooked it up, and it still won't charger my phone. So to make sure both chargers (the new and old one) worked, I used an adapter to hook a non-USB C phone up to the charger and both of them worked just fine. I'm not sure what the problem is. I mean, I suppose it could be the USB-C cord, but the odds of both the old and new cord being bad seems unlikely. Does anyone have any ideas?

my cord that came with my original charger went bad after a week, so it's possible. you could try another after market c-c cable in the Google brick and see if that works

I went through the exact same thing.

The same thing was happening to me. I tried reaching out to Google and they sent me a new charger. But the charger wasn't the issue. I finally thought I'd have to give up on using USB-C to USB-C charging and then realized I should check a setting in Developer mode. (You can google how to turn on developer mode)
There's a setting about USB connection. Connect your charger and then make sure it says "charging". (mine was set to data for some reason?)

PS: I've found that some external batteries the pixel tries to "charge" instead of charging the pixel. SO I've gotten in the habit of checking for the ""charging" icon every time I plug it in.
