Does anyone know if I can use the AC adapter from my Galaxy Tab 7 Plus to charge my Note 8? I'd like to keep it in my briefcase to have available at meetings when needed.

Don't see why not. I've been charging mine with whatever micro usb is plugged in nearby. The only caveat I've heard about charging the Note 8 is that most computer USB ports don't have the amps to more than trickle it. But every USB plug and cord that I've used in a real socket have been fine.

The adapter that comes with the Note 8 draws 10W. This is the same for the iPad. The little iphone chargers only provide 5V@1A or 5W. I believe the USB chargers in our laptops are 5V@1A, as well. The USB spec allows for 1.5A but I am not sure if this changes between manufacturers.

The wiki says the maximum amperage is 5A without data transmission, which would be really cool for charging these things fast.

Thanks, all. I just want to be able to plug in and charge up while at a meeting in case I run the battery down.
