Charging Cycle

I have a question about how the Watch 7 charges. When I had my Classic 4, I would put it on the charger and it would keep it charged (whether it was on or off) until I was ready to use it similar to the way my S22 charges.

I now have a Watch 7 and it will charge it once to 100% and then the charging will turn off. If I don't remember to take it off and put it back on the charger it will drain down until it's dead.

Samsung says this is the way it works but I'd appreciate it if someone could confirm if this is indeed how the Watch 7 charges.

Thanks!

Not sure if it's something to do with the new charging puck (haven't used that one, still using the one from the Watch 5), but mine stays at 100% as long as it's on the charger... So certainly not the watch!

Mine charges to 100% and stays there. I have noticed that since the January update my watch seems to stay charged longer. For example today 7:30 to 5, my watch is still charged to 87%. Battery saving is NOT turned on. However, I haven’t made any phone calls using my watch today.

In one of the other threads, it was earlier reported that smarter charging was probably going to soon come to watches. Maybe you have some sort of beta. I'd like it if my watch had the ability to stop charging/maintaining once it first got to 100%. In theory, I think that probably saves portions of charge cycles and therefore battery life.

I discovered that the charger which worked as it should for the Classic 4 didn't work on the Watch 7. When I used the Watch 7 on a puck charger it was charging correctly so whether the charger just went bad or just not compatible with the Watch 7 idk.
